MOTOR SAFE PROGRAM CONDUCTED BY MOTORCYCLE VICTORIA

On the 5th September a member of the Motorcycle Association of Victoria attended Longwood Primary School to conduct their MotorSafe program.  The aim of this program is to  promote motorcycle safety, competitive and recreational riding within your region.

A brief outline of program is:

  • Children, the law and motorcycles
  • Recreational riding for children
  • Motorcycle skills
  • Wearing correct safety gear whilst riding
  • A brief mechanical overview
  • Club involvement-procedures and benefits

They brought along some safety gear to help accurately display how safety gear should be worn, and a bike for the student to sit on and display.  In conjunction with the school presentation, they are also running a Motorbike Minikhana Come n Try Day at the Broadford State Motorcycle Complex, on Saturday 22nd September 2012, this is where children are given the opportunity to ride their bikes in a controlled environment with the supervision of qualified coaches and officials, watch others ride if they would like to, and be given the opportunity to meet and chat to those who are already riders within the club.
