STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT

Longwood Primary School believes that learning and social development can best be nurtured through the development of personal responsibility and self discipline in a happy caring and safe environment.

Longwood Primary School is a school in which every member has the right and responsibility to:

  • Be treated, and to treat others with respect.
  • Express their ideas and feelings and to listen to and consider those of others.
  • Have their property respected and to protect the property of others.
  • To work and play without interference and to allow others to do the same. To obey school and classroom rules.

 

In implementing our Code of Conduct the following strategies will be adopted:

  • Establish a consistent and positive approach to behaviour management.
  • Fostering a positive approach to learning.
  • Improving self-esteem.
  • Encouraging friendship.
  • Teaching and learning should take place in an atmosphere of care, co-operation and order.
  • Developing pride in oneself and in the school.
  • Developing respect and acknowledging differences.
  • Children will be responsible for their own actions.
  • Fostering and maintaining a partnership between teachers, parents and the wider community.
  • Encouraging the understanding and awareness of the school rules and the consequences of their breaches.
