AUSTRALIA WILL BE THERE EXHIBITION

Students attended the "Australia Will Be There" exhibition at the Community Centre last Monday.  This travelling exhibition from the Shrine of Remembrance features historical photographs and personal stories, presenting the chronology of the First World War (1914-19).  It provided the opportunity to discover the fascinating stories about the hardships that our men and women endured and the battles that they fought alongside Allied nations - from the landings at Gallipoli to the battles in Palestine, Passchendaele and Fromelles.  The exhibition featured over 100 photographs drawn from major collections, including the Australian War Memorial and the Sate Library of Victoria, and from the families of those who served.  Thank you to those responsible for the organisation of this exhibition for giving our students the wonderful opportunity to learn more about the hardships that those who served in the 1st World Ward hand to endure.
